FedEx Attributes Success to People-First Philosophy

Demonstrating how the People-Service-Profit philosophy contributes to engaged employees and business success

FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, shared insights into the success of its people-first philosophy at the HR Workshop hosted by the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea. The event was held at the Four Seasons, Seoul on April 7, 2016.

The People-Service-Profit philosophy (P-S-P) is based on the belief that by creating a positive working environment for employees, they will provide better service quality to customers, which would then lead to customers using FedEx products and services.

Henry Cho, HR specialist at FedEx Express Korea, shared how FedEx practices P-S-P in the workplace and how the philosophy is brought to life through programs that help make FedEx a great place for employees to work. Examples include a promotion from within policy and AiM (Advance into Management) Program as well as Tuition Assistance Program courses to assist employees develop their career at FedEx.

FedEx has been recognized as one of the top 10 Best Employers in Aon Hewitt’s “Best Employers in Korea” survey, the fifth time FedEx has received the award. FedEx was also named Best Employer for Young Generation in 2013 and the Best Employer for Women in 2011.
