SHANGHAI, March 30, 2013 — FedEx Express, one of the world’s largest express companies and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), in cooperation with Hands On China, a non-profit organization promoting volunteerism, today announced the kick off of an interactive reading program called FedEx Cares For Reading.

The program aims to provide migrant workers’ children with opportunities through which they can not only enjoy the fun of reading, but also expand their horizons by visiting points of interest in their community and participating in interactive activities with FedEx volunteers.

FedEx Cares For Reading will be conducted from March to July 2013 in five cities: Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Suzhou, and Shenzhen, with different themed activities will be held every month, namely a library visit, a campus tour, workplace experience, a museum/park outing and a program activity.

“As a responsible corporate citizen, FedEx cares for the communities where we live and work”, said by Eddy Chan, senior vice president, FedEx China, “and FedEx Cares For Reading is an ideal opportunity for us to integrate into local communities and give back to society.”

FedEx has been working with Hands On China since 2007. Together they have launched a series of volunteer programs covering areas such as science, badminton and photography. More than 1,500 FedEx team members throughout China have contributed about 6,000 service hours to help migrant workers’ children broaden their knowledge and expand their horizons.

FedEx recently received an award from Hands On China as 2012 The Most Dynamic Corporate Volunteer Team for its consistent contribution to local communities.
