FedEx helps SOS Children’s Villages Collaborate on One-of-a-Kind

New Delhi , October 27, 2006: – FedEx Express is pleased to announce that Faridabad is the current stop on the journey of the “FedEx for Kids” album, a unique book traveling to nine countries to capture and showcase the creative talents of the children of SOS Children’s Villages around the world.

The album, currently in India , was delivered by FedEx to the SOS Children’s Villages of India in Greenfields, Faridabad on October 13th from Tianjin , China . The children in the Village had two weeks to produce artwork, stories, poems and songs for the album. FedEx will pick up the album on October 27th and transport it to its next location – the SOS Children’s Village in Plaisir , France

Originally a blank book, the album began its journey around the world in July 2006, starting in Germany and traveling to SOS Children’s Villages in nine different countries. Each SOS Children’s village adds more pages to the book, with pictures, traditional recipes or regional poetry before sending it onto another country, and the next group of children.

Children began work on the album in Munich , Germany , where its journey started. From there, the album has traveled over the ocean to Argentina , on to the USA and then onto China and India . After India , it will travel back to Europe, passing through different SOS Children’s Villages in France , Poland , the Czech Republic and Austria before arriving once again in Germany . It will therefore conclude its journey in December 2006 by arriving into the happy hands of the children in Munich who first sent it on its way.

FedEx, the leading global express transportation company, has supported the children of the SOS Children’s Villages since 2005 and currently providing complimentary transportation services to send the album around the world. FedEx is providing access to its powerful global network in support of this project to help connect individual SOS Children’s Villages around the world to each other in a tangible and meaningful way.
