FedEx Delivers Toy Donations to Foodbanks

LONDON, 10 March 2014 – On 25 February, FedEx delivered more than 8000 children’s toys to 36 Trussell Trust Foodbanks across the UK. Each foodbank received 236 donated toys such as Baby Princess Dolls, Car Alarm Set and Racing Starter Pack. All donations are in support of the Trussell Trust Foundation, aiming to improve the lives of working families struggling to make ends meet.

Categorised in terms of gender and age, each Foodbank location received a consignment of parcels which will then be distributed along with food packages within the local community. The activity is part of the FedEx Cares initiative in which team members across the world give back to their communities. As part of this program, FedEx supports a number of charitable organisations both in the UK and around the world.

“We are really proud to be once again working alongside the Trussell Trust,” says Trevor Hoyle, Vice President of Operations FedEx UK & Ireland. “It is such a worthwhile cause and we are glad our involvement can help children and families across the UK in times of difficulty”.

“We are so thankful for the ongoing support of FedEx. With their amazing logistics support, 36 foodbanks across the UK will receive five large boxes of toys each which will be distributed to families in need. The toys which have been kindly donated, will help to brighten up the lives of children and families who are going through a time of crisis. This FedEx support couldn’t have come at a better time,” says Mike Partridge, Corporate Partnerships manager at The Trussell Trust”.
