LONDON, November 10, 2014—FedEx has provided logistics support to deliver laptops and printers to more than 45 Trussell Trust Foodbanks across the UK, from London to the Outer Hebrides. The items, donated by a travel rewards company, will enable centres nationwide to process foodbank vouchers more quickly—an invaluable capability to have during its busiest time of the year. The laptops also offer Foodbank managers a much higher degree of flexibility when it comes to ensuring that operations run smoothly.
FedEx has recently supported The Trussell Trust, a charity which improves the lives of working families struggling to make ends meet, in a number of activities. This is part of the ongoing FedEx Cares initiative which sees team members across the world give back to their communities. Through this, FedEx supports a number of charitable organisations both in the UK, and abroad.
“When The Trussell Trust needed logistics support to ensure the laptops and printers arrived in time for the Christmas rush, we were very happy to help,” says Trevor Hoyle, vice president, Operations, FedEx UK & Ireland. “The Trussell Trust does brilliant work all year round, and especially at Christmas which is its busiest time. The laptops and printers will go a long way to supporting them throughout the festive period, and beyond.”
Tim Partridge, Network Support Manager for The Trussell Trust, says, “We are extremely grateful to FedEx for all their support. The swift delivery of laptops and printers will play a huge part in enabling nearly 50 foodbanks to help people living in crisis this winter.’’
