Liège, Belgium, 30 September, 2026 – Federal Express Corporation (“FedEx”), has announced that Cosmin Coman has taken on the role of managing director of its Liège Air Hub, one of the company’s most significant European air facilities. Having assumed the position earlier this year, Coman now oversees a hub that plays a critical role in connecting European businesses to global markets and supporting the continued growth of the FedEx international network.
As one of two major air hubs in Europe, alongside Paris Charles de Gaulle, the Liège hub serves as the company’s European hub for intercontinental freight. The facility employs nearly 1,400 team members, processes approximately 75,000 shipments daily and connects Europe to key intercontinental destinations including Memphis, Indianapolis, Oakland, and Guangzhou.

The appointment comes as FedEx continues to strengthen its European network to support customers’ growing international shipping needs, particularly in sectors such as healthcare and automotive. Alongside its focus on helping businesses access global markets and manage increasingly complex supply chains, the company is also expanding its presence in the premium airfreight market, where customers require reliable, time-definite and globally connected logistics solutions. Liège plays a key role in that strategy as a gateway for both express and freight shipments moving between Europe and the rest of the world.

Coman brings extensive experience in transportation, logistics and network operations to the role. Prior to becoming managing director of the Liège hub, he held leadership positions within FedEx, including senior manager, linehaul, Benelux and linehaul planning center manager, Belux. Before joining FedEx, he held roles at TNT Express and Ravitex, where he focused on strategy and business development. He graduated from the West University of Timișoara, Romania, with degrees in Economics and French-English studies.
