SEOUL, May 21, 2012— Youths at a center for disadvantaged children in Korea now have a safe and eco-friendly recreational area to play on thanks to the work of the FedEx Dream Park project.
Last Saturday, FedEx volunteers, including Eun-Mi Chae, managing director of FedEx Korea, and youth residents of the Powha Dream Village in Gyeonggi-do, Korea celebrated successful construction of the center’s new, multi-purpose recreational area, which had started a month earlier on April 21.
The project transformed abandoned space near the center into a playground providing a much-needed outdoor recreational area to the residents of the village. As part of the celebrations, FedEx employees helped clean the new site as well as playing basketball and other games with children.
Since, 2009 FedEx Korea has helped to support disadvantaged children through the Dream Park Project in conjunction with the Partners For The Future Foundation, by remodeling unused outdoor space into play areas for children providing them a better quality of life.

FedEx 코리아가 후원하고 주한미국상공회의소 비영리 자선재단인 미래의동반자재단이 지원하는 파랑새 공원 프로젝트는 아동양육시설의 비어있는 공터를 친환경 놀이공간으로 재조성하는 프로그램으로 올 해 4회째를 맞이한다.
파랑새공원 4호로 선정된 아동양육시설 ‘꿈이있는마을’ 에서는 지난 한 달간 시설 환경 개선 및 놀이터 조성 공사가 시행되었으며, 낡은 축구 골대가 전부였던 황량한 공터는 아이들이 마음껏 뛰어 놀며 안전하게 실외 활동을 할 수 있는 공간으로 새롭게 태어났다.
FedEx 코리아 채은미 지사장 및 임직원들은 이날, 시설을 찾아 봄맞이 대청소를 돕고, 아이들과 함께 새로 만들어진 친환경 놀이터의 완공을 축하하며 즐거운 시간을 보냈다.
