Chinese Pandas Embark On the Journey to Canada with the “FedEx Panda Express”

HONG KONG, March 25, 2013—Today, two giant pandas began their journey from Chengdu, China to their new home in the Toronto Zoo on the specially chartered “FedEx Panda Express” MD-11F. FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation company, has donated its logistics expertise and operational strength to ship this precious cargo of endangered giant pandas. The five year-old female panda Er Shun and four year-old male panda Da Mao departed at 5:10am (local time) from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in China. Their arrival in Toronto will mark the first time in more than 20 years that a giant panda has been loaned to a Canadian zoo.
