Aspiring Indonesian Entrepreneurs to Participate at the FedEx Express / Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge Asia Pacific finals

Jakarta, 29 July 2021FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, together with Junior Achievement Indonesia announced the local winners of the first FedEx Express / Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge Indonesia Finals. The winning students from three different schools will represent Indonesia at the upcoming FedEx Express/JA ITC Asia-Pacific Finals.

The six students and the three teams who will compete with other countries at FedEx Express / JA ITC Asia-Pacific are:

1. Team: Khwabeeda Noor

Name of students: Prudence Brittany Amarissa, and Raissa Ardra Kirana

School: Binus School Serpong

Product presented: Maternal Hijab Dress

Brand name: Kwhabeeda Noor

2. Team: D’Green

Name of students: Mohammad Dzaki Yaumal Atsal, and Dzaqia Qurrota A’yun

School: SMKN 3 Buduran

Product presented: Salwar Kameez with Indonesian eco print fabric

Brand name: Lavana

3. Team: Rana

Name of students: Riefka Azka Aulia Hasna and Putri Litiefa Rachma

School: SMA 11 Bandung

Product presented: Children’s clothes

Brand name: Rana

This was the first year for the FedEx / JA International Trade Challenge to take place in Indonesia, and the competition saw a successful turnout, with 150 students from grades 7 to 11 across the country, participating in the international trade workshops. This program aims to empower and inspire young Indonesians to think beyond local borders and explore global trade to become successful global entrepreneurs.

“We are very impressed at the innovative ideas and strategies the students presented at the Indonesia Finals, and we are looking forward to their participation at the Asia Pacific competitions”, said Rhicke Jennings, Managing Director, FedEx Express Indonesia, and Asia Pacific Agent-Served Countries.

The 10 teams selected from dozens of hopefuls, presented their marketing plans to a distinguished panel of judges led by Rhicke Jennings, Managing Director, FedEx Express Indonesia, and Asia Pacific Agent-Served Countries. Student plans highlighted their product’s unique value proposition, pricing strategy, and sales and distribution channels. From the 10 teams, the judges selected the top three teams to represent Indonesia at the Asia Pacific finals in August.

At the Asia Pacific Finals, the students will be randomly grouped into new teams consisting of participants from different markets, such as China, Hong Kong SAR, India, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam, and get to collaborate with students from other countries and cultures. The goal is to encourage participants to share experiences from their home countries and incorporate insights from a regional lens.
