SEOUL, September 2, 2022 - FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE:FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, was named ‘Brand of the Year 2022’ by the Korean Consumer Council in the international logistics category.

Since 2002, this annual event has been organized by the Korean Customers Council to recognize businesses that deliver outstanding products and services to customers in Korea. The winners are decided through a nationwide survey. This year, nearly 460,000 consumers were invited to participate, and more than half of the respondents through online and telephonic votes chose FedEx as the preferred brand in the international logistics industry.

“We are honored to receive the ‘Brand of the Year’ award by the Korean Consumer Council. This accomplishment is testimony to the dedication of our 1,100 team members who strive to make every experience outstanding for our customers each day, ” said Eun-mi Chae, managing director, FedEx Express Korea. “We have served the Korean market for over three decades, and we will continue to deliver innovative solutions to support businesses, build more nimble supply chains, and enhance connectivity for customers around the world,” she added.

FedEx continues to adapt with expanded offerings and tools that support the growth of numerous Korean SMEs.

Enabling Korean small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs) to tap into the global e-commerce boom – Last year, FedEx launched an e-commerce shipping service – FedEx® International Connect Plus, offering day-definite delivery at competitive price for Korean e-tailers. FedEx has also teamed up with more than 10 Korean public institutions and quasi-governmental organizations, such as KITA (Korea International Trade Association) and KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), to support and offer discounted international shipping rates to Korean exporters. Recently, FedEx launched a collaboration with the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (Suhyup), an advocate for the Korean fishing industry, and EC21(www.ec21.com), one of the largest B2B e-commerce platforms in the country, to provide SMEs with time-definite and reliable express delivery services.

Enhancing connectivity between North Pacific and Southeast Asian markets - FedEx recently launched new flights from its Clark Gateway in the Phillipines to boost cross-border e-commerce across Asia, especially connecting South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and the Phillipines. These new flights provide a one-day transit time improvement for shipments moving from South Korea to the Philippines, enabling FedEx customers to take advantage of growing trade between the two countries[1].
