HONG KONG, December 4, 2017 — In celebration of the tenth FedEx Cares campaign in Hong Kong, FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and the world’s largest express transportation company, joined hands with Junior Achievement Hong Kong to introduce a workplace experience program. Throughout November, about 50 university and secondary students took part in a series of workplace visits and a one-day job-shadowing experience guided by FedEx operations, customer service, sales and marketing professionals. The program provided an excellent opportunity for young people to go beyond the classroom and gain first-hand insights into the real business world.
“At FedEx, we promote access by connecting people with possibilities,” said Anthony Leung, managing director, FedEx Express, Hong Kong and Macau. “Through our program with Junior Achievement Hong Kong, we are able to provide young people with access to the real business environment and opportunities. We hope this experience will inspire and serve them well as they discover their career aspirations.”
The program is part of the FedEx Cares worldwide campaign. Through this global giving platform, FedEx has committed to investing US$200 million in more than 200 communities by 2020 to create opportunities and deliver positive change around the world.
FedEx is a long-standing supporter of youth development. Since 2007, FedEx has sponsored the FedEx Express/JA International Trade Challenge (FedEx/JA ITC) to inspire and nurture youth entrepreneurship. To date, the program has benefitted more than 2,500 students in Hong Kong.
