BEIJING, Dec. 21, 2007—FedEx Kinko’s Office and Print Services, Inc. (“FedEx Kinko’s”), an operating company of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), today celebrates the ten-year anniversary of its first store in China.
The first FedEx Kinko’s store, located at the east 3rd Ring Road began operations in 1997. Since that time, the store has been dedicated to being a “one-stop shop” for customers, offering a broad range of business services with continuous technology innovation and solution improvements.
“We are very excited about the rapid growth of this store over the past decade,” said Gary Ding, senior operations manager, FedEx Kinko’s China, who joined Kinko’s in 1997. “It has consistently been one of FedEx Kinko’s top performing stores in China.”
“I joined Kinko’s as a front-line designer. It was much different back then. Not only was it exciting to be working for a foreign company, but we were embarking on something new in China,” said Ding. “I enjoyed learning about a new type of business and about the culture of the company.”
The Kinko’s corporate culture gave Ding the opportunity for career advancement. Today, he supervises the daily business of all the FedEx Kinko’s locations across China. “FedEx Kinko’s is really a great place to work; there are no limits to career progression. The company recognizes our good performance through awards as well as through employee training opportunities at home and aboard,” said Ding, who participated in a training program in Orlando, Florida in the U.S.
May Qi is another employee who has been with the company since it opened its doors in China. Qi began her career as a quality checker and today is Beijing district manager. “The thing that brings the most happiness in my life is to learn,” said Qi. “Kinko’s is constantly introducing new technology and services for customers. I enjoy learning how to operate the new machines, and it is fun to grow and learn with the company.”
