FedEx Supports the Needy in Hong Kong through Community Events

The first community event brings rays of hope to the elderly ahead of the Lunar New Year


HONG KONG SAR, China, January 17, 2023 — FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has launched a community outreach program in Hong Kong in cooperation with Green Monday, a non-government organization that promotes sustainable living through adopting a plant-based diet to combat climate change, food insecurity, and public health issues.

The program involves a series of community events including distributing nutritious meals and donating healthy food to the elderly, low-income families and the homeless.

The first community event took place on January 15. More than 50 FedEx and Green Monday volunteers together with their family members visited Lai Kok Estate, Lai On Estate and Un Chau Estate in Lai Chi Kok, and delivered festive gift boxes to 80 households living with vulnerable elderly persons, including single seniors and families of elder couples. The event brought warmth and festival blessings ahead of the Lunar New Year.
