SEOUL, South Korea, August 13, 2026 — Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, announced it is strengthening its ‘Safety Above All’ initiative in Korea by rolling out enhanced heat-prevention measures to protect frontline employees throughout the summer. The initiative reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to providing a safe and healthy working environment while maintaining reliable services for customers.

To help prevent heat-related illnesses, FedEx has equipped frontline employees at the FedEx Incheon Gateway and station warehouses with personal cooling equipment and hydration supplies, including cooling vests, scarves, and sleeves. Cold water, ice, electrolyte beverages, and salt-glucose tablets are made readily accessible so employees can stay hydrated and replenish electrolytes throughout their shifts. In addition, extra cooling fans and portable air conditioners have been installed across FedEx warehouses to improve ventilation and workplace comfort.

As part of a structured heat management system, apparent temperature meters have been installed at each FedEx facility to continuously monitor workplace conditions. During periods of extreme heat or government-issued heatwave advisories, managers closely track on-site temperatures and activate additional protective measures, including mandatory rest breaks, when pre-determined thresholds are exceeded.

FedEx is also strengthening employee preparedness through on-site training focused on recognizing heat-related illnesses, preventive measures, and relevant emergency response procedures. Visual educational posters and safety reminders are displayed throughout facilities to reinforce awareness and support a “Safety Above All” culture.

“At FedEx, the safety and well-being our team members are our top priority,” said Wonbin Park, managing director of FedEx Korea. “By proactively implementing these measures, we are helping our frontline employees stay safe during the summer months while continuing to provide the reliable service our customers expect.”
