SINGAPORE, Sept. 28, 2026 – Today, FedEx Corporation (NYSE: FDX) successfully transported two giant pandas, six-year-old male Ping Ping and five-year-old female Fu Shuang, from Chengdu, China to Atlanta, Ga. Working in collaboration with Zoo Atlanta, USA, FedEx provided dedicated air transportation to safely deliver the pandas to their new home, showcasing the company’s expertise in managing complex, highly specialized international shipments.
For decades, FedEx has worked with the Chinese government and zoos worldwide to provide safe, specialized transportation for giant pandas, one of the world’s most recognized symbols of wildlife conservation. FedEx is once again proud to donate the full transportation cost of this move as part of its ongoing corporate social responsibility and environmental conservation efforts.
Throughout their non-stop flight from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang traveled in custom-built travel crates under the care of Zoo Atlanta animal specialists. The pandas were the sole cargo aboard the aircraft, accompanied only by fresh bamboo, water, and an assortment of their favorite treats.
Giant pandas play an important role in global conservation, scientific research and international collaboration. Since 2000, FedEx has supported these efforts by leveraging its specialized logistics capabilities and global network to safely transport pandas between China and leading conservation institutions around the world. Including this latest mission, FedEx has transported 23 pandas to and from China.

Before their trip, Ping Ping and Fu Shuang spent time getting accustomed to their transport enclosures to ensure a safe and comfortable journey. Following their arrival at Zoo Atlanta, the pandas have begun their quarantine ahead of their public debut later this year.
In addition to operating the international flight, FedEx provided trucking and logistical support in Atlanta to safely transport the pandas from the airport to Zoo Atlanta. The move highlights FedEx ability to coordinate highly specialized shipments requiring exceptional care, security and precision across international borders.
