Taipei, September 5, 2022 — FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, announced the official opening of FedEx Taoyuan Pingzhen Station. The station will significantly improve the efficiency of pickup, delivery, and self-drop off and pickup in southern Taoyuan City. These services will give small- and medium-enterprises (SMEs) in Taoyuan access to FedEx services and faster connection with the world.

FedEx Taoyuan Pingzhen Station covers an area of 634 pings and is equipped with 20 vehicles. The service area covers Zhongli District, Pingzhen District, Yangmei District, Guanyin District, Xinwu District, Longtan District, and Daxi District in Taoyuan City. Pingzhen Station will greatly improve the operational efficiency of FedEx in Taoyuan City.

“According to data released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2021, 8% of Taiwan’s SMEs are located in Taoyuan City[1], the only city with positive population growth among the six special municipalities, which are Taipei, New Taipei, Taoyuan, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung[2], demonstrating its huge development potential,” said Michael Chu, general manager of FedEx Taiwan. “With the opening of Taoyuan Pingzhen Station, FedEx aims to help local business development and bring the convenience of fast international logistics services to both local cross-border e-commerce businesses and general customers.”

In the first half of this year, the import and export value of the Taiwan market reached a record high compared to the same period last year. The export value reached USD$246.68 billion, an increase of 19.2% over the same period last year. The import value reached USD$218.97 billion, an annual increase of 24.8%[3]. In response to the booming import and export market, FedEx is also committed to helping enterprises to use international logistics services nearby by increasing service points in Taiwan, which can help enterprises quickly respond to customer needs, and enter overseas markets. Currently, FedEx service stations in Taiwan include nine FedEx Express Stations, 11 FedEx World Service Centers, and more than 7,000 FedEx Express Authorized Shipping Centers.

FedEx continuously optimizes and updates its service options to help enterprises in the Asia-Pacific region enter the international markets. In April, FedEx expanded its break-bulk shipment service, FedEx International Priority DirectDistribution® (IPD), by shortening the transit times from two to four days to one to three days for shipments from Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, and Taiwan. The launch of FedEx International Priority® Express (IPE) in January offers customers the flexibility to schedule delivery by 10:30 a.m. or noon to select destinations worldwide.
