HONG KONG SAR, July 22, 2026 — Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, together with Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JA Hong Kong), announced the successful conclusion of the 2026 FedEx/ JA International Trade Challenge (ITC) Hong Kong Finals.
Marking its 20th anniversary, this year’s competition underscores FedEx’s unwavering commitment to fostering community impact across Hong Kong over the past two decades. Through this flagship program, FedEx has built a powerful legacy of youth empowerment — creating a vibrant, interconnected community of opportunity, entrepreneurial growth, and global citizenship that has inspired tens of thousands of young minds.
To align with today’s global economic and environmental shifts, this year’s challenge required students to address core FedEx priorities. Participating students were tasked with developing market entry strategies for AI-powered warehouse drones targeted at Vietnam. Their proposals were evaluated across key focus areas, including target-market analysis, value proposition, pricing and promotion strategies, distribution channels, as well as overall business viability and scalability.
The six students from Hong Kong’s winning teams are:
- Team: Astera
Names of students: Chan Siu Yu Jamie and Lui Wing Ka Ashley
School: St. Paul’s Convent School
Business idea: AsteraScan is an AI-powered drone that uses SLAM and LiDAR to automate stock-taking and rack inspections with speed and accuracy. Its dual sensors help detect package damage and climate risks, enabling zero-downtime warehouse operations. - Team: Beyond Barcodes
Names of students: Ma Yung Wai Jocelyn and Wong Abigail Yuk Huen
School: Diocesan Girls’ School
Business idea: The RaaS-based autonomous drone system streamlines high-bay warehouse inventory tracking with lightweight drones and smart charging docks. It supports 24/7 barcode audits, rapid asset recovery, and easy scheduling through a bilingual web interface. - Team: CirCradle
Names of students: Lu Tsz Yin Jessica and Wong Carolyn Yu Yan
School: St. Paul’s School (Lam Tin)
Business idea: ViScan Trade uses AI drones to scan warehouse inventory, generate HS codes, and create tamper-proof trade tags for export shipments. By combining trade documentation and EVFTA compliance in one platform, it helps Vietnamese exporters reduce errors and speed up EU market entry.
This year’s panel of professional judges includes Anthony Leung, Managing Director of FedEx Hong Kong and Macau; Dan Cheung, Co-Founder & Chief Catalyst, Asia Pacific Youth Development Foundation; and Janice Wong, Senior Vice President – AI and Innovation Strategy, Nan Fung. Dan and Janice participated in ITC 2008 and 2011 respectively. Their return to support on the judging panel symbolises the passing of the torch across generations of ITC alumni.
The Asia Pacific Regional Finals will bring together winning teams from across the region in Singapore this August. The six winners from the Hong Kong Finals will join top young entrepreneurs from seven different markets[1] to collaborate, exchange ideas and compete in a dynamic cross-cultural business challenge.
“For two decades, FedEx has invested in building a platform that expands the global horizons of young people in Hong Kong, nurturing a multi‑generational community of business leaders,” said Anthony Leung, managing director of FedEx Hong Kong and Macau. “Our vision is to make supply chains smarter for everyone —delivering innovation with reliable and sustainable solutions that empower businesses to thrive globally. The brilliant business ideas presented by our students in the finals blend smart technology with eco‑friendly practices, echoing FedEx’s commitment to shaping the future of global commerce.”
“It is a privilege to continue our longstanding collaboration with FedEx, building on our shared commitment to mentoring and guiding Hong Kong’s youth to gain global business perspectives and entrepreneurial skills,” said Vivian Choi, chief executive officer of Junior Achievement Hong Kong. “Our annual competition inspires students to develop innovative ideas by honing their critical thinking to address evolving business needs. We look forward to seeing more students embrace these opportunities to grow and lead the way as tomorrow’s business innovators.”
FedEx has worked with Junior Achievement since 2007 to provide Hong Kong’s youth with invaluable global business opportunities, reinforcing its commitment to nurturing future entrepreneurs. Over the years, the FedEx/JA ITC program has engaged more than 5,900 local students through hands-on workshops, with over 1,300 competing in the Hong Kong Finals and 119 representing the city in regional competitions.
