Shanghai, China, August 11, 2026 — Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, today announced the launch of the third season of the “AnQ Awakening Cloud Classroom” program in partnership with the non-profit organization Tongdao. The initiative is dedicated to promoting safety education for children across China.

The kickoff event for this season was held in Shanghai, bringing together representatives from the business, nonprofit, and local community sectors. As part of the event, children took part in an engaging and interactive workshop on environmental awareness and low‑carbon practices — introducing simple concepts such as reducing emissions and the meaning of carbon neutrality — officially launching a new season of the program.

As FedEx first internet-based public welfare platform project, “AnQ Awakening Cloud Classroom”, since its launch in 2020, has pioneered a collaborative corporate social responsibility (CSR) model. The program brings together employees, customers, suppliers, and non-profit partners to deliver knowledge on health, safety, environmental protection and low‑carbon practices to primary school students. To date, it has conducted more than 100 classroom sessions across dozens of cities, reaching over 27,600 children and providing sustained support for children’s education.

This season, themed “Protect Our Planet,” will feature 40 community science outreach and volunteer service events nationwide from August through December. The initiative aims to deepen children’s understanding of environmental protection and low‑carbon living and help cultivate a new generation of environmentally conscious citizens.

At the launch event, corporate representatives, charitable organizations, volunteers, and families came together to mark the beginning of this children’s environmental education initiative. Through immersive activities including scenario simulations, interactive games, and co-creation projects, the classroom turned abstract concepts into concrete, everyday actions. The program helps students learn about climate change, adopt low-carbon lifestyles, and foster a stronger sense of responsibility for the planet. Volunteer instructors from various participating organizations led sessions throughout the event, presenting environmental ideas in an engaging and accessible way.

Buay Beng Tan, Vice President of Operations, FedEx China, participated as a volunteer and said: “FedEx has integrated sustainability into our corporate strategy, with the goal of achieving carbon-neutral operations globally by 2040. Through ‘AnQ Awakening Cloud Classroom,’ we aim to empower the next generation through education, connecting sustainable development concepts across generations. We hope to help children translate environmental awareness into everyday low-carbon actions. This season reinforces our culture of ‘Commit to Do Good’ while extending our sustainability initiatives into the broader community, inspiring children to become responsible stewards of the environment and nurturing more environmentally conscious citizens for the future.”

“We are honored to partner with FedEx once again for the third season of ‘AnQ Awakening Cloud Classroom.’ This season’s focus on environmental awareness and low‑carbon practices responds to the growing need to introduce children to sustainability issues,” said Lin Wang, Head of Tongdao. “The multi-stakeholder volunteer instructor model breaks traditional educational boundaries and demonstrates genuine cross-sector collaboration in nurturing the next generation. We hope this approach will encourage more companies to support environmental education and initiatives that teach children about low‑carbon living.”

Through the FedEx Cares program, FedEx continues to leverage its global network and resources to support communities through charitable giving, employee volunteerism, and in-kind shipping. In China, the company advances its environmental commitments through tree planting, beach cleanups, and partnerships such as the “Protecting One Kilometer of a River Course” program and the University Student-led Environmental Entrepreneurship Challenge. FedEx also supports children’s development through programs including the FedEx Library Program, “Soul Package” initiative and “Explore Colorful Little World.” During “Purple Week,” FedEx will further expand its public welfare efforts, engage diverse groups, and contribute to a more sustainable future through a variety of impactful initiatives.

As part of FedEx “Purple Week” campaign, the program was launched on August 11 in conjunction with the “FWS Day of Service,” a day dedicated to honoring the service spirit championed by the company’s founder, Frederick W. Smith. Through a diverse range of volunteer initiatives, FedEx brings together employees, customers, partners, and community members to support community development and help build a more sustainable future.
