GUANGZHOU, May 18, 2009 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, joined hands with the China National Badminton Team (CNBT) and Greennovate Foundation, to hold an Environmental Awareness T-shirt Painting Contest. The contest, held at the English School affiliated with Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (ESAGDUFS) in Guangzhou, aims to increase environmental awareness among students.
Professionals from the Greennovate Foundation shared what “green” means to all attendees through interactive activities and educated students on how to protect the environment in their daily lives. Students then painted their desired “green life” on t-shirts together with FedEx volunteers and CNBT athletes. CNBT took part in this activity after finishing the Sudirman Cup in Guangzhou over the weekend. “The environment is very important to all members of the National Badminton Team,” said Coach Li Yongbo of CNBT. “We are happy to team up with FedEx to increase environmental protection awareness among students.”
