BEIJING, Nov. 1, 2010—FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, today introduced a new transpacific flight route operating Monday to Saturday providing greater connections between northern China with the United States. The new cargo flight takes off from Beijing and links with Inchon, South Korea before flying directly to Anchorage, Alaska in North America.
International business has been developing rapidly in northern China, particularly in Beijing, the country’s capital and one of the largest cargo gateways in the region. According to China Customs, in the first half of 2010 the total volume of imports and exports between Beijing and the United States reached USD 8.89 billion, which is up 20.4% from the previous year. In addition, the value of the goods being imported and exported in the Beijing area was valued at USD 115.5 billion, up 69.9% over the same period last year,
