BANGKOK, THAILAND, November 3, 2025 — Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, announced it is adding daily inbound and outbound cargo capacity for Thailand, creating new opportunities for local businesses to meet rising trade volume demand as Southeast Asia increasingly shapes global supply chains.

The enhanced service features dedicated capacity for five weekly Boeing 767 freighter flights, operating five days a week, substantially increasing Thailand’s ability to move global inbound cargo and outbound shipments through the FedEx Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou, China.
This is part of strategic network enhancements that include the following:

  • A new nonstop flight service between Guangzhou and Penang. Operating five times a week, Monday to Friday, the service utilizes Boeing B767 freighters and offers dedicated inbound capacity from FedEx Asia Pacific Hub to Penang, catering to Malaysia’s emergence as a key growth market fueled by supply chain diversification. Importers in Penang can now receive shipments approximately one hour earlier, significantly enhancing delivery timelines and operational efficiency.
  • Nonstop Kuala Lumpur (KUL)-Guangzhou (CAN) flight, offering a 2.5 hour later departure. Customers benefit from an extended pick-up cut-off times by an hour for Asia-bound shipments departing Kuala Lumpur. This enables greater flexibility for customers and dedicated capacity for shipments into and out of KUL.

In 2024, Thailand’s imports totaled 10.8 trillion baht (USD 334 billion), a 7.7% increase from the previous year, while exports totaled 10.5 trillion baht (USD 324 billion), a 7.4% growth from 2023. This substantial trade growth underscores the importance of increased cargo capacity to support the country’s thriving trade activity.

“This capacity expansion strengthens Thailand’s position as a regional logistics hub providing faster and more reliable access to global markets,” said Sasathorn Phaspinyo, managing director, FedEx Thailand. “We are committed to empowering Thai businesses with the confidence to grow, and we are continually exploring ways to optimize our network, unlocking new growth opportunities for global expansion.”

To support the region’s pivotal role as a growth engine for global trade, FedEx also recently announced two new flight routes connecting South Korea with Vietnam and Taiwan.
