TAIPEI, June 3, 2015 — FedEx Express (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), and 7-ELEVEN, the largest convenience store chain in Taiwan, today announced a collaboration where FedEx extends its services to more than 5,000 7-ELEVEN stores around Taiwan. This brings FedEx retail service points to more than 6,300 together with the more than 1,300 FedEx Authorized Ship Centers[1] at Chunghwa Post offices, Eslite Bookstores, Kodak Express stores and Sir Speedy centers.

With 7-ELEVEN’s extensive network, customers can now enjoy greater flexibility and convenience by having the option to pick up their packages[2] shipped via FedEx International Priority® or FedEx International Economy® services at their preferred 7-ELEVEN location 7/24 at no additional charge[3].

“At FedEx, we constantly look at ways to respond to customers’ evolving needs,” said Michael Chu, managing director, FedEx Express, Taiwan. “Today, customers increasingly ask for flexibility—from the way they ship to the way they receive the package—particularly so in the fast-growing e-commerce market. The retail service network expansion through 7-ELEVEN not only adds to our last-mile delivery capabilities, but also demonstrates our efforts to address the needs of customers.”

The service is expected to bring particular value to e-commerce where online shoppers no longer have to worry about missing the delivery of their purchases with the introduction of this convenient pickup option. In Asia Pacific, e-commerce sales are expected to reach US$681.2 billion this year, the biggest in the world[4]. This trend also resonates in Taiwan where e-commerce is forecast to grow by 150 percent to NT$200 billion this year[5].

“We have a vast retail network across Taiwan—from urban to rural to residential to business districts. There is always a 7-ELEVEN store in the neighborhood, making us an ideal ally for FedEx,” said a spokesperson for 7-ELEVEN. “We are committed to continuously providing consumers with everyday convenient services. Now consumers are not only able to purchase local specialties, pay utility bills, use ATM service at a 7-ELEVEN store nearby, they can also choose to pick up their FedEx packages at their preferred time at 7-ELEVEN, enjoying added ease and convenience.”

To promote FedEx service at 7-ELEVEN, customers who use the pick-up service between now and June 30, 2015 will have a chance to win an iPad mini 3 from FedEx. More information about the lucky draw is available at www.fedex.com/tw_english/dropoff/index.html?tab=tab3.
