SHANGHAI, China, April 3, 2022—FedEx Express, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, actively responded to the Shanghai Changning District government’s call for support during the COVID-19 outbreak. The company quickly coordinated delivery vehicles and organized employees to reinforce “ensuring supplies for people’s livelihoods” by delivering daily essentials to community residents.
With the surge of COVID-19 cases, the supply of vegetables, fruits and other daily necessities is in great shortage. On April 1 and 2, FedEx Express responded to the call from the Changning District government to distribute vegetable packs to the residential compounds.
Following the epidemic prevention requirements and the proximity principle, FedEx employee volunteers from ground operations actively participated in the activity of the distribution and delivery of supplies. FedEx delivery vehicles were used to serve multiple communities and ensure the transport of supplies to residents in a timely manner. To date, FedEx volunteer teams have distributed supplies to 23 neighborhood committees and around 73 residential areas in the Changning District, serving about 37,000 households and 79,000 permanent residents.
