China Team Members Deliver Helping Hands

SHANGHAI, Sept. 15, 2011—FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX), will kick off its fourth annual FedEx Cares Week in the Asia Pacific region. From September 17-25 FedEx volunteers in 12 Asia markets, including Australia, mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam, will donate their time to community groups and programs. This is part of a global FedEx initiative involving almost 4,000 employees around the world.

FedEx Cares Week activities focus on giving back to the communities where our employees live and work. Projects include environmental outreach, visits to elderly centers, career counseling for university students, outings with the disabled and donations of books and stationary to primary school students.

“FedEx Cares Week is a global show of unity and a demonstration of our continued dedication to the local communities,” said David L. Cunningham Jr., president, FedEx Express Asia Pacific.

“Providing our team members the opportunity to give back to the communities is very important to us,” added Eddy Chan, head of FedEx Express China. “Most of our projects are employee-led initiatives. We have more than 300 volunteers conducting activities in 11 different cities around the country.”

Since FedEx Cares Week first launched in the U.S. in 2005, it has expanded to more than 40 countries and territories around the globe. This year, FedEx Cares Week will be celebrated in the US from September 12 to 18 and debut in Canada, Spain, Italy, India, the UAE and Switzerland. Together, FedEx volunteers around the world will donate a combined 20,000 hours to serving local organizations.
