American Red Cross Recognizes FedEx and other Annual Disaster Giving Program Members for Support of Haiti Relief Efforts

FedEx is actively working with the American Red Cross to provide logistical expertise for Haitian relief efforts, ensuring that life-saving shipments arrive as quickly as possible.

Explains Rose Flenorl, FedEx Manager of Social Responsibility, “This effort is important to our team members, and it is important to FedEx. We are moving 150,000 pounds of American Red Cross family care kits over the next few days and providing cash grants in support of their International Relief Fund, which provides lifesaving supplies and relief materials.”

FedEx work with the Red Cross also includes disaster preparedness efforts such as small business preparedness outreach and sponsorship of a disaster readiness conference. FedEx has worked with the American Red Cross for more than 12 years and is a founding member of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program. The company contributes more than $1 million dollars in cash and in-kind services to the Red Cross every year and has supported Red Cross efforts to respond to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and many others. FedEx was presented with the prestigious Circle of Humanitarians Award and the Henry Dunant International Partnership Excellence Award in gratitude for its generous contributions and longstanding commitment to the humanitarian mission of the organization.
