Shanghai, China, August 1, 2024 – Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, was recently honored with the ‘Outstanding Health Innovation Award’ at the 2024-2025 Mercer China Healthiest Workplace Award Ceremony. Out of 330 organizations, FedEx was the only logistics company to receive the award.
The Mercer China Healthiest Workplace Selection has been organized biennially since 2016 by Mercer, one of the world’s leading human resources consulting firms. By thoroughly evaluating corporate health systems and individual health risks, it aims to recognize employers who provide the healthiest work environment to benefit employees’ well-being, disseminate advanced health management concepts to more companies, and foster workplace progress.
“By upholding our people-centric ethos, at FedEx we regard our people as our greatest asset and are seamlessly integrating human resources management with our business strategy,” said Christie Chen, managing director of Human Resources for FedEx China. “Through various initiatives and competitive comprehensive benefits, we are committed to making FedEx a diverse, equal, and inclusive workplace. We aim to provide all team members opportunities for a promising career and a healthy, fulfilling life beyond work.”
Guided by the People-Service-Profit (P-S-P) philosophy, FedEx has cultivated a workplace culture that prioritizes the health and well-being of its employees since entering the China market 40 years ago. The company has established a seamless communication channel and a comprehensive health management system covering physical health, mental health, and work-life balance for its team members. This includes a range of health and welfare solutions such as the Employee Assistance Plan, Tuition Assistance Program, medical and healthcare insurance products, engaging health initiatives and a flexible “fit-for-purpose” work model tailored to different roles. These efforts are designed to help all FedEx team members achieve a harmonious work-life balance.
Additionally, FedEx encourages team members to take an active role in social responsibility through daily low-carbon practices and community volunteerism, fostering harmonious coexistence between the individual, the company, and society. In FY24, 11,000 FedEx China team members participated in a Go Green program to reduce consumption of electricity, water, paper, and fuel in day-to-day operations. Team members also extend warmth to the underprivileged through charitable donations and visits while promoting a more sustainable future through public welfare education events and tree-planting activities. This year, the FedEx Library Program provided students in 17 primary schools in underprivileged rural areas across China with a wider range of reading resources and established reading rooms or book corners for 10 schools through donations and volunteer services.
