Manila, Philippines, April 22, 2024 – FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, kick-started the company’s 40th anniversary by teaming up with local non-profit Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation to conduct a beach clean-up activity.

In line with its culture value to Commit to do Good, over 100 FedEx volunteers came together and collected approximately 588 kilograms of trash at Barangay Taltal in Masinloc, Zambales. The activity is part of FedEx’s commitment to support a more sustainable planet. It is also part of April Global Volunteer Month where FedEx team members are encouraged to come together to ‘Drive Forward, Give Back’ by volunteering and doing countless acts of caring.

In addition, FedEx donated PHP one million to Gawad Kalinga to support programs in select areas in Zambales and Metro Manila through educational workshops that will empower local communities to shift to more sustainable and greener practices. The volunteers shared insights on the impact of climate change on coastal communities, the importance of preventing plastic pollution on marine life, and sustainable waste management. FedEx also donated recycling bins to the local authorities and community leaders to encourage the recycling, recovery, and upcycling of used materials.
