Taipei, September 11, 2023 - FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has further expanded its international package pickup locations in Taiwan through a strategic partnership with Taiwan Hi-Life convenience store. The consumer-focused international store pickup service now encompasses nearly 1,600 Hi-Life convenience stores. Customers can designate their preferred Hi-Life convenience store online as the pickup point for international packages, enhancing their overseas shopping experience.

FedEx now boasts an extensive network of over 10,000 pickup locations across Taiwan, aimed at optimizing convenience for international online shoppers.

“During the pandemic, there has been a notable shift in consumer shopping behavior -from brick-and-mortar stores to online platforms. Even as the pandemic’s impact has waned, cross-border e-commerce, unbound by geographical constraints, continues to gain momentum in Taiwan,” says Michael Chu, managing director of FedEx Taiwan. “Given the evolving complexity of the e-commerce market demands, our goal is to introduce innovative services, coupled with flexible and user-friendly delivery options. This caters to the expectations of both customers and businesses. FedEx is pleased to collaborate with Hi-Life to seamlessly integrate our international express delivery. The expanded pickup locations significantly augment our service network in Taiwan, delivering the comprehensive transaction experience that both businesses and customers aspire to.”

According to a 2022 survey conducted by the Institute for Information Industry’s Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute (MIC), “convenience and flexibility in picking up goods” ranked as the third most critical factor influencing Taiwanese consumers in their choice of an e-commerce platform[1]. This underscores the importance of shipping alternatives that transcend constraints of time and place. Such options not only enhance consumer satisfaction but also contribute to higher successful delivery rates for online retailers, thereby nurturing customer repeat purchases. In line with this trend, FedEx remains committed to extending its pickup network beyond the existing more than 10,000 locations, offering Taiwanese customers an even streamlined cross-border shopping experience.

The inclusion of nearly 1,600 Hi-Life convenience stores across Taiwan as FedEx pickup locations empowers customers to conveniently select the store nearest to their residences or workplaces, with real-time message or email notifications in tow. This approach ensures the seamless last-mile delivery of cross-border online purchases. With FedEx Delivery Manager®, customers can stay informed about their package’s delivery progress through messages or emails, with a range of delivery options at their disposal, including specific delivery dates and pickup methods. This comprehensive feature elevates delivery success rates, creating a mutually beneficial scenario for both individual customers and businesses.
