Seoul, South Korea, June 2, 2025 – Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, joined forces with the ‘Let’s Bee Forest’ campaign, an urban reforestation initiative by the Korea Green Foundation. Held in celebration of World Environment Day, the initiative drew enthusiastic participation from FedEx team members and their families.
The activity took place on May 31, 2025 at Noeul Park in Haneul-gongwon-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul, where more than 30 FedEx volunteers planted 90 nectar-producing trees. As part of FedEx Cares, the company’s global community engagement program, this effort highlighted FedEx’s continued commitment to foster a more sustainable community and local conservation efforts. It also aimed at promoting urban ecosystem conservation and raise environmental awareness in the local community.
The ‘Let’s Bee Forest’ campaign aims to address the decline in bee populations and the reduction of vital nectar-producing food sources caused by climate change. By planting nectar-producing trees, the campaign will help stabilize bee populations while expanding urban green spaces that can help reduce particulate matter (PM), or small inhalable pollutants, and help remove carbon from the atmosphere.
“Participating in this campaign alongside our employees and their families was a truly rewarding experience. It not only strengthened family connections, but also demonstrated how small, collective actions can drive meaningful change in our communities and environment,” said Wonbin Park, managing director of FedEx Korea. “FedEx remains committed to fostering a sustainable future through volunteerism in the places where we live and work, as well as what we do within our own operations to reduce our company’s environmental footprint.”
FedEx continues to carry out a range of community engagement programs in Korea. Earlier this year, FedEx team members donated essential supplies such as clothes, toys, blankets, electronics, and books to support those in need, in collaboration with the Beautiful Store.
