Shanghai, China, Sept 21, 2023 –- The FedEx® Sustainability Insights tool was recently honored by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing with the title of “2023 E-Commerce Logistics Innovative ESG Practice” in China.
Created by FedEx Dataworks, FedEx® Sustainability Insights is an innovative cloud-based data engine using near-real-time FedEx network data to estimate CO2e emissions. This tool gives customers across Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) markets* access to historical emissions information on their shipments within the FedEx network, including international shipments in China.** Customers can use the data to help make informed decisions on their future shipping strategy in order to reduce their impact on the planet. The new offering complements ongoing efforts by FedEx towards a goal of carbon neutral operations by 2040.
The FedEx Beijing solar panel project earned the title of “2022 E-commerce Logistics Innovation Case” last year. As a pioneer of sustainable logistics, FedEx has been actively exploring ways to reduce environmental impact throughout its operations. In China, FedEx has invested in areas such as vehicle electrification, sustainable facilities, paperless shipping, and lighting energy efficiency, while at the same time continuously supporting the industry in establishing a sustainable supply chain.
