Singapore, December 4, 2023 — FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, was recognised as ‘Best Companies to Work for in Asia 2023’ at the HR Asia Awards ceremony in Singapore. FedEx was lauded for strong corporate culture and exemplary human resource management practices that drives high employee engagement.
FedEx achieved an outstanding score in the Total Engagement Assessment Model (TEAM) survey, surpassing the market average significantly. The survey covers a wide range of topics, providing valuable insights into employee expectations and the overall work experience.
In 2023, FedEx launched a series of programs to support team members in their journey to spread their wings in the workplace. These include online courses for learning and development, as well as mentorship from leaders to facilitate career growth. Through its commitment to building a brighter future for local communities, FedEx empowers team members to see their impact through various community initiatives including planting trees in Singapore through the Plant-A-Tree programme with The Arbor Day Foundation and the Garden City Fund, and collaborating with The Salvation Army Peacehaven to organise enriching lifestyle excursions for senior citizens.
“This award is a testament of our steadfast commitment to fostering a people-centric ethos and delivering outstanding employee experiences,” said Eric Tan, managing director of FedEx Express Singapore. “Guided by our People-Service-Profit philosophy, we view our team members as our greatest assets, and we strive to cultivate a healthy work environment that empowers our employees to create differentiated solutions for our customers, build vibrant communities and a sustainable future.”
HR Asia, Asia’s authoritative publication for Human Resource professionals, in conjunction with Business Media International, has been running the TEAM survey for nearly a decade. This survey has grown to become one of the largest employee engagement surveys across Asia today. At present, it has surpassed 1.5 million participants in major Asian markets such as Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, India and Vietnam.
The thriving workplace at FedEx in Singapore is underscored by recent recognitions. Earlier this year, FedEx received the Silver Ribbon Mental Health Award 2023 for promoting a supportive and healthy working environment. Additionally, the company also earned a place among the top 15 companies in The Straits Times Singapore’s Best Employers list.
