Seoul, South Korea, May 13, 2024 — FedEx Express (FedEx), a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, announced the renewal of its Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) certification. FedEx is also the only express transportation company to achieve a class “AA” level AEO accreditation in South Korea. This is a testament to the company’s steadfast commitment to provide secure and quality logistics services while offering cost savings that can help customers become more competitive internationally.

As an AEO certified company, FedEx shipments receive prioritized customs clearance while FedEx customers benefit from accelerated and simplified customs procedures in import and export filings, and in inspection and clearance. The AEO certification recognizes that a company has been validated and authorized by the Korean Customs Service according to the authorization requirements in compliance with the law, internal control system, financial solvency, and security management[1].

“At FedEx, we are committed to simplifying the shipping process to enhance cross-border trade for local businesses,” said Wonbin Park, managing director of FedEx Express Korea. “This recognition is not only a testament of our commitment to ensuring high safety and supply chain security standards of our customers’ parcel and freight shipments, but it also reaffirms the company’s position as a reliable logistics provider with local expertise and advanced digital tools to connect Korean businesses to the world, and delivering better value to our customers.”

Recently, FedEx enhanced its transpacific service between South Korea and the US, with the introduction of a new flight that offers additional capacity catered to international freight shipments. Exporters such as those in the electronics, automotive, home appliances and fashion sectors now benefit from having convenient access to added capacity when transporting their heavyweight or freight shipments to the US.
