Bangkok, Thailand, May 8, 2024 – FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX) and one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, recently collaborated with the World Vision Foundation of Thailand to raise awareness on waste management in rural areas of Thailand.
As part of the FedEx Cares program, about 40 volunteers from FedEx Thailand teamed up to instill the importance of environmental protection to the Pa Deng community of Phetchaburi Province, which is home to 10 villages and approximately 7,000 residents. FedEx donated three environmentally friendly waste incinerators and three units of biogas systems to replace traditional waste disposal practices such as open-air incineration and landfills. The new incinerators and systems will significantly reduce toxic emissions and provide a sustainable solution for organic waste decomposition. FedEx volunteers also provided guidance on proper waste segregation and shared best practices on reusing, recycling, recovering, and upcycling used materials to local communities.
