Bangkok, Thailand, April 28, 2025 – Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, in collaboration with the World Vision Foundation of Thailand (WVFT), donated and installed solar-powered water filtration systems to the Pa Deng community in Phetchaburi province to provide reliable access to clean water.

The community has faced challenges with its water supply, which relies on a power source prone to frequent outages. The transition to solar power will provide the community with a reliable supply of water for sanitation and hygiene.

To bring this project to life, more than 20 FedEx volunteers worked alongside Pa Deng community members to install the solar cells and water filtration systems, addressing critical infrastructure needs and benefiting more than 1,900 residents from four villages.

“Water and electricity are fundamental to the well-being of every society. At FedEx, we are dedicated to delivering solutions that address the needs of communities where they arise,” said Sasathorn Phaspinyo, managing director of FedEx Thailand. “Through this initiative, we aim to empower the residents of Pa Deng by enhancing their access to these vital resources. I am incredibly proud of our team members who embody our commitment to do good and continue to support our FedEx Cares initiatives.”

This year’s program is the latest initiative in FedEx’s efforts to deliver solutions to the communities of Thailand. Last year, FedEx donated and installed three eco-friendly waste incinerators and three biogas systems in Pa Deng to replace traditional waste disposal methods, such as open-air incineration and landfills. These systems offer sustainable solutions for organic waste decomposition while reducing toxic emissions.

With global goal to achieve carbon-neutral operations by 2040, FedEx continues to employ a multifaceted approach to environmental stewardship both in its air and ground operations—including vehicle electrification, fuel savings initiatives, and the sourcing of renewable energy—as well as sustainable packaging solutions for its customers.
