Bangkok, Thailand, November 11, 2024 – Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, is extending the preparation time for export shipments from Bangkok, Samut Prakan, and major industrial zones, such as Ayutthaya, Chonburi and Pathum Thani. This enhancement offers customers increased flexibility and convenience in response to the demand surge during the festive holiday season.
From November 2024 to March 2025, the new shipment preparation time is extended by up to 1 hour. Customers using FedEx International First® (IF), FedEx International Priority® Express (IPE), FedEx International Priority® (IP), and FedEx International Economy® (IE) to send their packages from Bangkok and Samut Prakan will now have until 5:30pm to prepare their shipments. Customers shipping from Chonburi and Rayong will have until 4:30pm to prepare their shipments*. Additionally, customers using FedEx International Priority® Freight (IPF) and FedEx International Economy® Freight (IEF) to send their freight shipments from Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong will enjoy an extended preparation time of either 3:00pm or 4:00pm depending on the postal code**. In addition to the extended preparation time, customers will also benefit from same-day uplift of their shipments to reach their destinations faster.
“This service enhancement comes at a critical time for businesses as the year-end holiday season typically drives significant increase in consumer spending, requiring businesses to swiftly handle orders, scale up production, and meet tight fulfilment timelines,” said Sasathorn Phaspinyo, managing director of FedEx Thailand. “This is part of our commitment to make it as easy as possible for customers to prepare parcel or freight shipments and access our reliable global delivery network and smart digital solutions . Extending the preparation time will help businesses grow their export business as they navigate one of the busiest times of the year.”
The improved service not only supports FedEx customers but also contributes to the growth of Thailand’s exports to international markets. In the first three quarters of 2024, Thailand’s exports rose by 3.9% year-over-year, reaching USD 223.18 billion (approximately THB 7.96 trillion)[1]. With exports anticipated to continue growing towards the end of the year, FedEx is helping local businesses, particularly those in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and industrial zones across the country keep pace with increased production and delivery demands, thereby strengthening Thailand’s export capabilities.
To further support Thai businesses--especially those in the manufacturing and industrial sectors--manage their heavy-weight shipments, FedEx offers a comprehensive portfolio of ancillary and value-added services including customs clearance, cold storage, fumigation, special handling, and more to support specific freight forwarding requirements with more flexibility and a differentiated customer experience.
