FedEx Announces Appointment of Poh-Yian Koh as Head of China

Shanghai, China, July 9, 2024 - Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, today announced the retirement of Eddy Chan, Senior Vice President and President of FedEx China, effective August 16, 2024. Poh-Yian Koh, current Vice President of FedEx Operations, will succeed Chan as Senior Vice President and President of FedEx China, effective August 1, 2024.

With nearly 40 years of service at FedEx, Chan has overseen the company’s operations in China since 1998. During his tenure, he established a growth blueprint that fostered trade relations and a strong people-first culture in China. Under his leadership, FedEx has achieved phenomenal expansion and growth in China, maintaining its momentum and leadership in the market. FedEx operates in major cities across China with nearly 11,000 team members and conducts more than 300 international flights in China per week.

Chan’s influence extends well beyond FedEx. He has introduced advanced management concepts and innovative operation models to China’s logistics industry, catalyzing its development and empowering local companies to expand globally. Additionally, Chan has played a pivotal role in supporting foreign companies seeking to navigate the Chinese market. His contributions as a senior advisor to multiple organizations have also been recognized with numerous deserving awards.

Poh-Yian Koh relocated to China in 1994 and has held director roles in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing. In her most recent role as Vice President of China Operations, Koh strengthened the Ground and Gateway Operations while championing sustainability practices and innovation in the country. During her tenure, Koh spearheaded the company’s efforts to explore the market, shape customs procedures, and expand the FedEx network and its services.
