54 Students Battle for the Title of Entrepreneur at FedEx Express/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge Asia Pacific Final

HONG KONG, August 6, 2014 – The 2014 FedEx Express/Junior Achievement International Trade Challenge (FedEx/JA ITC) Asia Pacific Final will take place next week between August 17 and 20. Students from across nine markets in the Asia Pacific region will gather together in Hong Kong to compete for the title of Entrepreneur.

This year, 54 students aged 15 to 19 from Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam will represent their territories at the Asia Pacific Final (please refer to appendix for schools and student names). These students have advanced from the local challenge in their respective home markets, where they were tasked with developing a business plan to promote a product or service in an overseas market. The aspiring youngsters demonstrated outstanding business acumen, creativity and entrepreneurial skills, winning them a place in the FedEx/JA ITC Asia Pacific Final.

The event is jointly organized by FedEx Express and JA Asia Pacific, a member of JA Worldwide. The program provides participants with the opportunity to understand and gain first-hand experience of entrepreneurship and the world of business. Since the program was first held back in 2007, the FedEx/JA ITC has introduced almost 10,000 young people across the Asia Pacific region to the workings of business, commerce and the global economy.
