2011 Shanghai Rolex Masters Transportation Plan Announced

SHANGHAI, September 13, 2011 – The organizing committee of the Shanghai Rolex Masters today announced its transportation plan for this year’s event. FedEx Express, the global Platinum Sponsor and Official Carrier of the ATP World Tour, also announced its sponsorship of the Shanghai Rolex Masters and its title sponsorship of the public shuttle bus service during the tournament. Mr. Jiang Lan, secretary general of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Guo Haipeng, deputy director of safety department of the Organizing Committee and Mr. Eddy Chan , senior vice president, FedEx China attended the press conference.



As one of the annual ATP World Tour flagship events, the Shanghai Rolex Masters has drawn more and more attention from China and around the world. But the concern of spectators is how to save time and resources to reach the stadium, Qizhong Tennis Center . Every year, optimizing the transportation plan is one of the focuses of the organizing committee. The new plan aims to provide spectators with faster and more convenient transport solutions and enable them to reach and leave the stadium in a comfortable and quick manner.



The organizing committee released the transportation plan. The shuttle bus service is the highlight of the transportation plan. Based on the experience from past years, the organizing committee has launched a dedicated shuttle bus service for the event by using buses from the Shanghai No. 2 Bus Transport Company to provide efficient and convenient transport services. The shuttle bus starts at the South Square of Xinzhuang Station of the Metro Line 1 and the terminal is between Gate 1 and Gate 2 of Qizhong Tennis Center. The bus stops at Zhuanqiao Station of Metro Line 5. It takes about 30 minutes to complete the route and the ticket costs RMB 2. The operation schedule is as follows.




From Xinzhuang Station to Qizhong Tennis Center :


11:00 am to 19:00 pm, Oct 8 to 16


Qizhong Tennis Center to Xinzhuang Station:


16:00 pm to 22:00 pm, Oct 8 to 16



In case the matches end later, special night buses will bring the spectators to the Caoxi Road Transport Hub between 21:00 pm and 30 minutes after the matches from Oct 9 to 15.



The shuttle bus plan makes good use of the metro line. It takes into consideration factors such as transfer times, on-bus time, comfort and cost. It shows the organizing committee’s ideas of providing the best services for spectators and trying its best to resolve their transportation concerns.



Mr. Eddy Chan , senior vice president, FedEx China , announced FedEx sponsorship of the 2011 Shanghai Rolex Masters and its title sponsorship of the shuttle bus service.
