Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, June 7, 2024 — Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, announced that Richard W. Smith, Chief Operating Officer International and Chief Executive officer Airline, FedEx, and Kawal Preet, Regional President for FedEx Asia Pacific, participated in a meeting with Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of Vietnam, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on June 6, 2024 to discuss the company’s growth strategy in Vietnam.
During the meeting, FedEx highlighted its three-decade presence in Vietnam and reaffirmed its commitment to strategic long-term investment in the country. This commitment entails expanding its operations and bolstering its logistical capabilities to enhance its service to customers. Recognizing Vietnam as a key market within the FedEx network, the company expressed confidence in the country’s economic strategy and future direction. FedEx also reiterated its dedication to facilitating global trade and enhancing Vietnam’s connectivity within Asia Pacific and around the world.
Additionally, both parties engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening Vietnam’s logistical infrastructure that will contribute to the country’s economic growth.
In October 2023, FedEx inaugurated a new flight service originating from Ho Chi Minh City, connecting Asia and Europe via the FedEx Asia Pacific Hub in Guangzhou, China. As a result, exporters from Southern Vietnam have experienced expedited transit times for shipments to major Asian markets within one business day, and to Europe within two business days. Presently, FedEx maintains a schedule of 36 weekly flights to and from Vietnam.
