Beijing, China, June 5, 2025— Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has launched the 2025 “Together, Act for Good – Protecting One Kilometer of A River Course” environmental public welfare program in collaboration with the All-China Environment Federation (ACEF). The program aims to enhance awareness of water environment protection and unite societal efforts for collaborative governance. It involves nationwide actions for river conservation, supporting the establishment of a Beautiful China and accelerating sustainable development.
The 2025 “Protecting One Kilometer of A River Course” program, initiated by FedEx and ACEF jointly, features a unique model of “sustained mobilization and organizational empowerment.” This year, the program will carry out a series of river protection activities in 15 cities across China, including Beijing, Shanghai, Shijiazhuang, Chengdu, Xi’an, Taiyuan, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Jinan, Zhengzhou, and Shenyang. Collaborating with local environmental groups, non-profits, and community volunteers, the initiative will include shoreline cleanups, soil and vegetation protection, and biodiversity conservation, spreading awareness and knowledge of river course protection to a broader public.

At the launch ceremony, Xia Guang, vice chairman of the All-China Environment Federation and former Inspector of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, shared insights on river and lake protection policies and public engagement in environmental initiatives: “River protection requires participation and cooperation across all sectors of society. By innovating volunteer service models and promoting collaboration among social organizations, businesses, volunteers, and the public, we can create renowned and long-term initiatives. These approaches are essential for fostering public awareness and effectively addressing environmental challenges.”
Together with the All-China Environment Federation, FedEx also released a proposal for the “Protecting One Kilometer of a River Course” Public Initiative. The proposal encourages the public to incorporate river course conservation and environmental protection into their daily lives by embracing four imperative roles: guardians of river ecosystems, practitioners of green living, advocates for environmental awareness, and contributors to ecological river development.
