Jakarta, Indonesia, 5 May, 2025 — Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, marks its 40th anniversary of operations in Indonesia by reaffirming its dedication to supporting Indonesian businesses connected to more than 220 countries and territories in the world. As the country’s logistics sector plays a crucial role in driving economic growth, FedEx remains committed to empowering businesses of all types through its extensive global network and logistical expertise.

“For four decades, FedEx has had the privilege of serving the Indonesian market, enabling businesses to connect with opportunities worldwide. As we celebrate our 40th year of continuous operations in Indonesia, our commitment remains stronger than ever—to empower local businesses with world-class logistics solutions that drive growth, expand their global footprint, and contribute to Indonesia’s economic progress,” said Garrick Thompson, Managing Director, FedEx Indonesia. “Indonesian businesses are a vital force in the global economy, and at FedEx, we are dedicated to supporting their growth and success. Our robust air and road network, reliable and innovative services, and highly trained team are all designed to help Indonesian businesses compete on the global stage. This milestone is not just a reflection of our past achievements, but a reaffirmation of our unwavering commitment to empowering Indonesia’s businesses to grow and thrive internationally. Together, we will continue to drive economic progress and create lasting value for the global marketplace.”

FedEx continues to strengthen its service infrastructure in Indonesia, enhancing the country’s logistics network. A key milestone in this effort is the enhancement of its import shipping services to Jakarta, reducing the inbound transit times for shipments from Asia, Europe, and the United States by one day. This improvement is a game-changer for Indonesian businesses, allowing them to receive goods faster, adapt swiftly to market shifts, and meet customer demands with greater agility.

FedEx also launched the Denpasar gateway facility, a state-of-the-art gateway that significantly boosts export capabilities for businesses in Bali, offering more efficient and reliable shipping solutions. By expanding its footprint in Denpasar, FedEx is enabling Bali-based enterprises to seamlessly connect with international markets, unlocking new growth opportunities.

Through these strategic investments and service upgrades, FedEx reinforces its operational excellence in Indonesia. By optimizing supply chains and streamlining logistics, the company is helping businesses stay competitive on the global stage—ensuring they can meet evolving demands with speed, efficiency, and reliability.

Celebrating our customers
FedEx is committed to developing customized logistics solutions and advanced online tools to better serve our customers. One notable example is Balizen, an Indonesian eco-brand that offers traditional Balinese handicrafts. Balizen leverages FedEx sustainable shipping solutions as they work to build and maintain their presence in markets such as the U.S., Korea, Japan, Singapore, and Australia. Since launching its first store in 2003, Balizen has leveraged FedEx’s extensive global reach, logistics solutions, and digital tools.

One of them is FedEx International Connect Plus (FICP), which helps local businesses with guaranteed one-day delivery e-commerce shipment. FedEx also recently launched the Collaborative Shipping Tool, which simplifies import processes and streamlines collaboration between importers and shippers during Airway Bill (AWB) creation.

Celebrating our local communities
As part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, FedEx launched a series of FedEx Cares initiatives to support local communities. FedEx Cares is the company’s global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, focusing on empowering SMEs, supporting underserved communities, and promoting environmental sustainability.

In February, FedEx employees volunteered to teach street children during an educational event at the Kolong Community Reading Park. Additionally, FedEx hosted an Iftar event in March for 20 orphans at Yayasan Al-Mawaddah, sponsoring meals and donating essential school supplies. Recently, FedEx also partnered with Trees4Trees to host a tree-planting event at GIIC Bekasi, where 300 trees were planted to celebrate Earth Day.

As FedEx continues its anniversary celebrations into 2025, the company has planned a series of outreach events throughout the year to engage local communities.

Celebrating what’s next
Looking ahead, FedEx is focused on its vision for 2025 and beyond, with a strong emphasis on fostering a caring and inclusive workplace, while upholding the highest standards of safety and security. “Our dedication to Indonesia goes beyond serving our customers; it’s about building collaborations and fostering economic development. We understand the unique needs of local businesses and continuously strive to provide innovative solutions that facilitate seamless access to global markets,” shared Garrick. “We will continue to be laser focused on our customers by putting them at the center of everything we do, making sure that every experience they have with FedEx matters.
