Sydney, Australia – Federal Express Corporation, one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has announced domestic and international shipping deadlines for the 2024 holiday season to support Australian businesses and help individual shippers beat the holiday rush.
This year’s shorter holiday shopping season, with five fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, will put extra pressure on shoppers. To ease the stress and navigate this busy time, businesses should plan their strategies carefully, and consumers are encouraged to shop and ship early to avoid last-minute rush.
Customers are advised to send their shipments by these deadlines to ensure packages are scheduled to arrive in time for Christmas Day:
Sending shipments within Australia
For sending shipments within Australia, the deadline for sending Road Express shipments is 18 December(for Western Australia and the Northern Territory the last day for shipping is 16 December).
As for Priority services (9:00 Express, 10:00 Express, 12:00 Express and Overnight Express services) the deadline is 20 December.
The final deadline to collect shipments from a local FedEx facility is 23 December.
Sending shipments to New Zealand from Australia
For shipments to New Zealand, the deadline for Economy services (International Economy and International Economy Freight) is 18 December, and 20 December for Priority services (International First, International Priority Express, International Priority, International Connect Plus and International Priority Freight).
Sending international shipments from Australia
For all other international shipping, the deadline for sending shipments through Economy services (International Economy and International Economy Freight) is 13 December, and 18 December for Priority services (International First, International Priority Express, International Priority, International Connect Plus and International Priority Freight).

- The recent launch of FedEx Import Tool is the latest addition to the company’s comprehensive suite of e-commerce shipping solutions designed to support Australian e-tailers cross-border e-commerce shipping services.
- Other advance tools include Picture Proof of Delivery (PPOD) where recipients of selected residential shipments delivered by selected shipping services receive a photo showing the exact location of their package once it is delivered to their doorstep, offering peace of mind.
- The FedEx Ship Manager (FSM) allows small businesses and e-commerce merchants to create shipments in a few simple and quick steps, saving time spent on manual data entry to generate shipping labels.
